IT support for optometry & ophthalmology.

Exam lanes that never stall, diagnostics that talk to the EHR, and imaging that loads before the patient sits down. Phoenix IT supports eye care practices’ whole stack — with people who know what an OCT is.

The problem

An exam lane down is a schedule down.

Eye care runs on connected devices: pre-test, OCT, visual fields, fundus imaging, then the EHR pulling it all together per patient, per lane. When one link breaks, patients stack up in the hallway. Generic IT providers see “a printer problem.” We see a broken DICOM bridge.

The problem

Diagnostic images won’t attach to the patient chart.

How we fix it

We fix the device-to-EHR bridges — DICOM settings, storage paths, integration software — and test every lane after every update.

The problem

Pre-test data re-entered by hand because the interface “broke again.”

How we fix it

Interfaces get monitored like servers. When a vendor update breaks a link, we know before your techs do.

The problem

A workstation dies and takes a $90K diagnostic device offline with it.

How we fix it

We maintain and image the workstations attached to your diagnostics, so a $600 computer failure never idles a six-figure instrument.

Practice story · Eye care
We’re doctors, not tech people, so having a trusted IT partner is incredibly important to us. Nicole and the Phoenix IT team help take the stress out of managing technology across multiple clinics by keeping things running smoothly and responding quickly when issues come up. Their support has helped us avoid unnecessary equipment replacement costs and focus our resources where they matter most — our patients and continued growth.

Visionary Eye Care runs 11 clinics across the region. Phoenix IT extended the working life of three specialty diagnostic machines the team had budgeted to replace — over $270,000 in capital, redirected to patient care.

FAQ

Eye care IT, answered.

Do you support both optometry and ophthalmology practices?

Yes. From single-OD optometry offices to multi-location ophthalmology groups with surgical coordination — the systems overlap heavily, and we support the EHR, diagnostics, and imaging on both sides.

Our OCT works but won’t send images to the EHR. Is that you or the vendor?

Usually it’s the bridge between them — DICOM settings, network paths, or an update that broke the link. Either way, it’s ours to fix: we diagnose, and if the vendor needs to be involved, we run that call.

Can you help us avoid replacing expensive diagnostic equipment?

Often, yes. Many “obsolete” devices fail because the workstation attached to them aged out, not the optics. We’ve extended the life of six-figure diagnostic machines by rebuilding their supporting systems — over $270,000 saved for one client.

What eye care software do you support?

RevolutionEHR, Crystal PM, and the practice management systems common in eye care, plus the diagnostic side — Optos, OCT platforms, visual field analyzers, fundus cameras, and topographers. We don’t sell software; we make yours work.

How do you handle multiple clinic locations?

One security standard, shared identity so staff log in once everywhere, central monitoring, and a single help desk. We support an 11-clinic eye care group today — see the practice story above.

Is HIPAA support included?

Yes — technical safeguards, training, and audit-ready documentation are part of every plan. See HIPAA IT compliance support.
